  1. In Vista you need to turn off UAC (User Account Control). This function of Vista is an annoying new security feature that prompts you "Are you sure you want to wipe you butt?" anytime you do anything.

     

    To turn off this feature:

     

    1. Open Control Panel > Security > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off

     

    2. Uncheck the Use User Account Control (UAC)....... check box

     

    3. Reboot

     

    4. Launch CCleaner and all is well, you should not have any problems.

     

     

    I am using Vista Business and do not have the Family and User Accounts section under Security. I do have Tweak Vista from Stardock and have disabled UAC. Having stated that, I cannot check the 'run as administrator' box in any of the iterences of properties. I have even took over ownership of the program. All this and still to no avail. I cannot clean the issues. I can clean the windows garbage.
