Installed the new version, ran it, it doesen't clean the temporary internet files (it is checked to do so). Says they are cleaned out, but they are still there.

That sucks, downloaded the new version without noticing it was now shareware, anyone know where I could get version 5.3?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Options > Cookies The cookies on the left will be deleted next time you run CCleaner. If you want to keep a cookie then highlight it and click on the central arrow to move it into the right hand column.
Every time you visit a website a cookie will be placed on your system. You then have the option of allowing CCleaner to delete it or keep it as outlined above.

When I went to 'cookies' it was always empty, but as of late the 21st it began to have cookies in the left panel. Don't know what I was doing wrong, but it seems to be working ok now.
