I have had an older version installed for a few years. I have had updated turned off since the beginning.
I removed all CCleaner update entries from Task Scheduler, and from startup long ago.
I just turned my computer on at 9am, went up stairs to make another cup of coffee, came back to the computer and CCleaner is open on the screen with a popup telling me I now have the newest version installed.
Task scheduler now has CCleanerCrashReporting and CCleaner emergency updater entries
CCleaner auto-updated itself and opened on machine startup.
