A few days ago, I let CCleaner clean my computer. Ever Since, Zoom won’t open anymore. I get the message that UIBase.dll and DUIlib.DLL is missing.
CCleaner made a backup before cleaning, but restoring the backup doesn’t fix the issue.
I tried deinstalling Zoom, but I can’t do that either because DLL is missing.
I asked Zoom to help, they sent me something called CleanZoom, but I can’t install it because DLL is missing. I feel like I’m stuck in a loop here. Does anyone know how to get out of it? I tried downloading the DLL’s online, but I’m not sure how to install them.
From what you say you used the Registry Cleaner, it’s not meant as a cleaning tool, its a ‘fix it’ tool for when things are aldready broken.
(That’s why it’s now under Tools and not in plain view anymore).
But OK, you now have missing DLLs.
(or at least the registry links to them are missing, if you do a search for the DLLs are they in fact still there?)
The easiest way to fix this is probably going to be a reinstall of Zoom.
See this, it’s about a different DLL but tells you how to uninstall/reinstall Zoom when a DLL is missing:
CleanZoom should also have worked, it doesn’t need anything other than itself to run.
Had you extracted it from the Zip before double clicking it?
If you are having problems uninstalling then try doing a new install ‘over the top’ of your broken one.
In other words don’t try to uninstall first, just reinstall a new Zoom and it should replace the one already there.
Thanks for your answer!
I tried to install a new Zoom on top of the broken one, numerous times. That’s also why they sent me CleanZoom (of course, I extracted it). I’m unable to install or deinstall Zoom in any way I tried.
I’m not sure how to see if the dll’s are still on my computer, the search bar doesn’t give any results, nor does Execute .
