Windows Updates falsely shown in Software Updater

The Software Updater showed that a Windows Update is available. I closed CCleaner and performed the Windows Update per the Windows Settings. After the update and restarting my notebook, I restarted CCleaner and ran the Health Check. The Software Updater continued to show the same Windows Update, so I performed the Scan again. The Windows Update entry didn’t go away.

What does it say wants updating, is it a Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable?
eg.

Those can get updates but you don’t really need the update unless you are installing some software that needs it.
So Windows Update itself doesn’t offer the updatesfor C++ redistributables simply because you do not need them unless/until you do install something new.

Your choice if you let CCleaner update them or simply ignore what CCleaner is saying.

Yes, it seems pretty stupid that CCleaner Software Updater now offers Windows (and other) updates that you don’t actually need.
But it’s dumb and just sees that there is a newer version, it doesn’t check whether you actually need that new version or not. (Windows Update is cleverer in that respect and only offers things that you need).

There again the Driver Updater has always offered updates that you don’t need. (Including some that are not even suitable for your particular machine, and may even stop it working properly - which is why you shouldn’t use any driver updater without great care).
