Windows 7. Cant schedule disk defrag. Task manager says: Item has been corrupted or has been tampered with. This locks on my desk top can temporarily eliminate it by re booting desk Top?? I've run Defraggler but not helping

- It's Task Scheduler that manages all the scheduled tasks, not Task Manager.

- It's an error that's occuring on a lot of systems.

- Tasks are registered in the registry as well. And that's where the problem is. Try the following:

- Remove the task (Ccleaner) and re-install Defraggler.

- This thread could provide a solution, (Never tried it myself)
