You haven't got a third party Windows theme installed have you?
When I used to mess around with themes many years ago, I've seen the newly installed window effect transferred to the borders of some software windows.
one is Windows 7 with CC v5.24, the other is Windows 8.1 with CC v5.00
I'm aware of that.
Will that do? It says Win7, which is proof of what I've said in OP. BTW, Windows version and the CC version has nothing to do with it. I've been having this issue for over a year now.

Just a thought.
I never used any of that.
It's weird and annoying that Win7 is superimposing its Aero Glass border theme over the original theme of CC.
^ Of course it's an Aero Glass issue. What I want is to remove it and get the original Tile interface of CC back.
"It's hard to offer advice when there is no common thread to start from."
"From a trouble-shooting point of view, you need to eliminate all the variables."
What common thread? You now know everything there is to know. I'm not a total noob when it comes to troubleshooting stuff. But I can't seem to do anything here. I have always used the portable free version of CC. To my knowledge, this version only has an EXE, and no files to edit or alter. I tried installing and uninstalling CC as well, several times, and each time I cleaned all possible program and registry traces. But that didn't work as well.
"You have 3 screenshots, from 3 different PC's, running 3 different versions of CC."
How am I supposed to show you a pic of the Tile interface on my own system when that very thing is the problem that I'm here for in the first place? I already showed you in the OP how it looks like on my system now. However, I had to take the pic of the original Tile interface of CC from the internet and then post it here just for comparison's sake. That's it. Nothing cryptic. When I tell you that it was working fine (the Tile interface) on my system with Win7 before, you have to believe me. The proof is already shown above that the Tile interface can indeed display on Win7 without any problems.
If you guys don't mind me sticking my two penneth in again I would ask if "Aero Glass" is the default Win 7 theme?
I could be wrong but I maybe it isn't. Is it a blue theme of some sort?
I don't have Win 7, but if I change the theme of my XP desktop, the border of CCleaner picks up the border of the new theme. And I'm not talking third party themes here, but the installed themes like XP or Classic.
CCleaner behind the Control Panel with the blue "XP" border ...
CCleaner behind the Control Panel having picked up the old "Classic" border ...
CCleaner seems to be one of those programs which can pick up the theme of the Operating System, especially if that theme has been changed.
There may be a setting within Win 7 to have whatever theme is selected to not be transferred to the bordered windows of software. And to perhaps indicate what I mean have a look at the settings within my XP "Change the Computers Theme" settings.
It's as complicated as it looks, but take note of the setting with the yellow highlight ...
It seems that changing themes can affect an Application background.
Maybe dig into Win 7's display settings for a fix.
Are you now saying one of those screenshots is not from your PC at all but ripped of some website as an example???
On whatever PC is showing that transparent theme in CC, do you have any other programs showing the same theme?
Yes. It should've been obvious from the beginning, but I regret not mentioning it specifically.
Of course, many programs use default Win7 Aero Glass theme when they don't have one of their own. For example, I use Internet Download Manager that doesn't have it's own unique theme, so it uses Win7 default Aero Glass. However, I also use a program called Foxit Reader which has it's own Tile theme, like CC does, and it shows fine without any problems.

Yes, it's only CC that fails to show it's default theme on my system for some reason. I've now tried different themes in Win7, but CC continues to pick whatever theme is default for Windows, completely disregarding it's own Tile theme.
Apologies if barking up the wrong tree, but isn't CCleaner using the Windows default border CORRECT behaviour? The screenshot showing the CC specific border is from V5.00 - CCleaner 5 had a custom border for 2 or 3 versions, but there were complaints that it wasn't respecting the Windows theme so was changed to do so. So there is no bug, just a change in the program.
Thanks for the screenshots @trium, I was just going to ask about this.
So now it's been confirmed that CC doesn't have that special interface anymore. It only acquires whatever the default Windows interface is.
Thanks for trying to help guys. The devs should at least update the screenshots on their official page (which are still of v5.0) to avoid people from being misled into thinking that something is wrong with their system or OS.
