Winapp2.ini additions

Would make sense indeed. The disk cleaner is an alternative, not a side-by-side add-on to CCleaner.

Yeah, I agree with Tux there that ccleaner is great for making it so you never acutally need to run disk cleanup. so it would make sense to add that entry. I also like that it is false by default. question though, my Windows seven also makes a MinesweeperSettings.xml.bak so those would be left behind after the cleaning, is this by design?

Yes, the gameSetting.xml and gameSetting.xml.bak are for the games settings ie. for Minesweeper the game board size, ect.

I could add them as a separate entry, but I don't see why anyone would want to clear their settings for games.

Anyway here is a new file, added to it are some updated folders, auslogics boostspeed logs, last.fm client cache and the microsoft windows game stats

updated: Removed SRWare Iron and fixed Microsoft Windows Games Stats :)

http://omploader.org...ydw/winapp2.ini

updating the first post with it too.

LOL I read your entry wrong . . or at least made an assumption :P

I only have the settings files and the windowprefs.xml

I don't have what you have listed yet, let me play one game of something so i have a stat file and then I get back to you LOL

what weird though my minesweepersettings.xml does have stats written inside of it o_O

EDIT:

Yup doesn't look like windows 7 is creating those files and it doesn't even looks like the diskcleanup is even emptying the stats from the settings file. (note I only tested on Solitare and Minesweeper)

Still I say yeah add it

Edit: seems my assumption as to the behavior of the saving system was incorrect. I will amend the file to account for this.

You should remove SRWare Iron as it now has official support.

You don't have to add extra FileKeys with %ProgramFiles(x86)%

When CCleaner detects 64bit it points %ProgramFiles% to the right direction (in this case C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\)

It's just like %LocalAppData%, CCleaner will automatically point it to %userprofile%\local settings\application data\ on Windows XP. ;)

I'll be a sad panda if Ccleaner did this by default and this was a waste of time, but oh well what can you do.

Are you certain of that? Because to me that would imply we wouldn't need work arounds for default entries like Sun Java for vista/7

Aww I just tested this with few rules and it seems you are right, which is somewhat disheartening. Would it make sense then, to remove all the added things? :( At the very least I did add/update some entries I suppose :lol:

Sticky this; edit the original Winapp2.ini thread.

If your recent test on a FEW RULES shows that a they are redundant, it neither proves nor disproves the value of other rules.

Windows 7, and also presumable Vista, has BLACK HOLES where data disappears over the Event Horizon.

All the rules are broken. Abandon hope all ye who enter ! ! !

I have just posted information on this problem at :-

This is true, I did not check every single path, so I can't assume ccleaner automagically does this for every entry. I suspect things pointing to locallowappdata wouldn't be compatible with windows xp, for example.

I will do some additional testing with one of my windows xp boxes, I suspect that some of the paths at the very least have altered, but I don't know. :)

Aside from that, heres an updated version (with added filekeys still there)

http://omploader.org/vNWZndQ/winapp2.ini

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3002

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

*** Correction ***

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3025

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

So that it will be added under the Tab Applications>Windows

and Not under the Tab Applications>Windows Explorer

(since it can Not go under the Tab Windows>Windows Explorer - where it normally belongs).

It does not.

It does not.

Then, you can make the above Correction (3002=>3025) so that the respective Icon Cache entry

looks like:

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3025

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

Thank you for your hard work!

Nice work Winapp2.ini.

This just jumped out to me, though.

I know I said I didn't check most of the entries, but judging by the detect file, that on is REALLY bad. :lol:

Someone dun goof'd

I've fixed it in my copy, I'm still testing some stuff though.

:)

Cool, checked and merged with mine and good to go thanks :) I like some of the new adds too (P.s. For next one you can remove realplayer sp it's = to winapp.ini and also the second * on quicktime for vista and seven 1) no longer needs cache new winapp.ini does that correct now 2) doesn't need extra * ) again, Winapp2.ini thanks so much for your work you're awesome.
