When I use Drive Wiper, under Tools > Drive Wiper, to do a Free Space Only wipe on my C: drive it it start but only does 219.401MB for some reason. Even though my 500GB harddrive has 214GB of freespace. So I was wondering how I get it to whipe the entire free space?
Secondary issue that might be related. Right clicking on my C: drive gives me 251GB used 214GB available. However when I count all the files I have up by hand it hovers around 65GB. Lets give it some room for error and make it 100GB. Thats a pretty big margin of diffrence between 100GB used and 214GB used. So whats happening?
I am not doing a full wipe, just a free space one, no files are lost. In other words the I am trying to wipe the space where files use to be but are no longer.
How long does the wipe free space take? Are you sure it's 209.401 mb and not 209,401 mb?
I don't know how you counted 85 gb of files 'by hand', but there may be system or oter protected files you have missed, op sys, sys restore etc. I woldn't count up file sizes if you paid me.
This is the answer, your OS is running in german therefore the Number format is a period between thousands not a comma.
In Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Greece and much of Europe: 1 234 567,89 or 1.234.567,89.
Thus your free space which is relatively 200 GB is being cleaned, I hope you have not continually be rewiping as this WILL end up bringing the life of you drive to a shorter time period.
