Every time I run CCleaner it prompts me with a message that I need to shut down Internet Explorer. I don’t find Internet Explorer in my Task Manager or in my Control Panel under programs? According to Microsoft, “Support for Internet Explorer ended on June 15, 2022. Internet Explorer 11 has been permanently disabled through a Microsoft Edge update on certain versions of Windows 10.” What’s going on?
Many older apps (including most Microsoft stuff) would use the IE temporary storage locations, and may still be using them.
(They wete just there already so a convinent place to put temporary files).
I must admit though that it seens unusual that you would still get that message.
After you run a Analyze or a Clean double-click on what has been found or cleared for IE temporary files.
The pathname(s) shown may give a clue to what is having to be closed.
