Why does CCleaner seem to take a screenshot every time I use it now?

Thank you.

There is a thread (have a read) about people noticing a flashing after a clean.
Is this what you mean, it’s like having a photo taken?

Yes exactly. I covered my laptop camera with tape.

It isn’t taking a screenshot, and it isn’t using your camera to take a photo of you (why would anything want to do that?)

As said in that linked thread it’s a glitch in the graphics, and only affects Custom Clean in CCleaner Free.

I’ll agree that it’s puzzling and could be annoying, but it’s going to be there until the glitch is resolved, either by Microsoft or CCleaner.
(I’m pretty sure that it’s been caused by something that MS changed in Windows, so are MS going to change it back?
Or are CCleaner going to have to re-write their graphics routines to cater for the MS change?).
