In all prior versions of CCleaner, all internet browser cookies would automatically be cleaned upon closing the browser window. This no longer happens and I can’t find the setting to re-enable this functionality. Cookies get cleaned up as expected when manually running the cleaning process, but the auto clean functionality was so handy. So far not too impressed with v7.
We have been told that automatic Browser cleaning will be added to CCleaner 7 this month or next.
Well, that’s good news, I suppose. Not sure why it was removed in the first place, but hopefully it comes back sooner, rather than later.
Cleaner7 should not have been rolled out until it was done. Startup Manager is missing several tabs as well.
The irony is atleast 2-3 features mentioned in the free vs pro subscription page are missing and yet they had the guts to roll the release. Shows how understaffed or inefficient or disconnected the team is.
Yeah, same issues here. Where were automatically clean systems? Why it wasn’t clearn cookies the way I wanted too. Like sometimes it cleaned the whole things (facebook, x, netflix cookies) even I set it to trusted cookies and sometimes it wasn’t cleaned anything (random cookies form p**n sites, histories, logged in cookie sites). The purpose of spent yearly money on software is for keep all of my browsers “CLEAN” atleast for me. Will I have the roll back of 6.8x or 6.9 version please? this current 7.1x verion was awful
Version 6.9. available with steps to follow to prevent the auto update to v7 when you sstart it.
@hazelnut Thanks.
The Automatic Cleaning of the Browser Cache, Cookies and History, was the LAST Functionality of CCleaner that I VALUED using. It is EXTREMELY EMBARRASSING, when Family, Friends or Co-Workers, encounter my Browser History!!! It was SO USEFUL to have ALL of my browser History removed upon closing the Browser, and alleviate this anxiety.
Because of other major BUGS in CCleaner:
- 2025-JUL, Defective Driver Installed by CCleaner Driver Update.
- 2025-NOV, All User Files DELETED and Registry damaged by CCleaner.
- 2025-DEC, Recuva only restored 50% of my files, Disk-Drill 75%, 25% LOST FOREVER.
- 2025-JAN, No Automatic Cleaning of the Browser Cache, Cookies and History.
I will be Un-Installing this S**T product in 15 minutes. Hopefully next year they will have a NEW Software Manager, to increase the Software-Test dept, and bring a SAFE and RELIABLE product back to the Market.
