Why Defraggler v2.21.993 can not defragment my files. namely Pagefile.sys, HIBERFIL.SYS and file of Antivirus Kaspersky Internet Security ?

The file system has a large size is more 6GB.

Hi Yance, and welcome to the forums,

the main reason would be those 3 files are locked by their relative 'owners' (Windows and Kaspersky) when you defrag.

but over-riding all that is the pointlessness of the exercise. Pagefile and Hiberfil would get frag'd at the next reboot and the antivirus database and logs at the next update.

feel free to do them, but don't except them to stay in one place.

for me, I turn off the Hiberfil process (powercfg -h off) so that file is never there. I don't use any of the power saving features of Windows.

and I have the pagefile on a non-boot drive and set to a minimum of 512megs.

there is also a Windows registry tweak that will 'reset' the pagefile at every shutdown.
