Which Real-Time Protection is the best?

Which has the best Real-Time Protection.

Spybot Search & Destroy

Windows Defender

SpywareGuard

Ad-Aware Pro (What I am currently running)

Which is the best out of those, or what are some better ones. Thanks ;)

Out of those probably adaware pro.

Defender is junk, and the current teatimer(spybot) has a few bugs.

Some people really like spyware terminator which is free as well.(not my favorite by any means, but you could try it yourself)

Honestly though, if you have an AV running and a firewall(even if its just the windows one), you should be ok without any realtime antispyware. :)

That's what I was thinking. I really love my Ad-Watch a lot. I heard Spybot's was good as well. I have the newest AVG for an AV. Well I guess I'll stick with Ad-Watch. Thanks.

More opinions are greatly appreciated.

dont use any myself, a full system scan with AVG anti-spyware + using spywareblaster = no spyware = no need for real time protection :)

I'm one of those that use SpywareTerminator. I've used the others (except Defender) and keep them as demand scanners. Since installing ST on the computer, I've been pretty much infection free. The company is focussing more on the realtime protection and HIPS side of it rather than trying to get every definition in the www nailed, and there are demand scanners that fill that gap very well (SAS, Asquared,AVG) but I have noticed the definitions are increasing.

Frequent updates, most bugs sorted, active forum.

I used to use MSAntispyware. When it died, and became Windows Defender, I read enough about it to not want to try it out.

no realtime here.

on vistas im using defender, spybot, adaware, superantispyware and asquared on demand.

on xp im using all of the above minus defender, plus avg.

presently using:

SpywareGuard--http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html

(Golden Oldie  )

SpywareBlaster--http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Spybot S&D--http://www.spybot.info/

SuperAntiSpyware Pro--http://www.superantispyware.com/

Will let it lapse when the trial runs out, see how it works as the free version.

I really like Ad-Watch, but I'd like to know if there any better ones. ;)

Yeah if you don't mind paying then you could get AVG Antispyware or Superantispyware.

I would probably get AVG but super is great too. There is also webroot which is awesome.

All 3 of those are better than adaware, but none of them are necessary.

Basicly just using Opera or Firefox instead of IE, keep you out of the crapware. When using IE, SpywareBlaster is a MUST. Up-to-date antivirus program is always must to have. I personally use and prefer Avast!.

So i think that Real Time prodection for spy/adware is quite needless, when using safe browser like i.e Opera.
