Why did CCleaner drop the multiple-overwrite option? Or am I not seeing it?
Indeed 7 does not have multiwipe. This is because A) Modern hard drives are more efficient and a single overwipe secure deletion (Shift+Delete or in ccleaner configure for Custom clean “Secure” (custom clean right hand pane advanced)) is as effective as 32 wipes; and B) on SSDs and, to a lesser extent, magnetic drives lifespan is shortened with the overwipes to (as explained in A) little or no greater security.
