When scanning C, only showing I386 and Windows folders, not the rest

Hi, I'm trying to recover a document located in My Documents in C. When I run the scan, it completes, and only shows files that are in C and not in subfolders, and in the folders I386 and Windows - just giving me a lot of system logs, basically. The error log doesn't, to me, show anything remarkable - it says it's scanning a lot of different files and then that it's done. Any ideas about how I can get it to scan C:\\Documents and Settings, or if it already is, how to see the results?

It's taking a very long time to upload the error log, I'll try to post it in a reply to this topic. Here's the end of the search. Everything before this looks the same as the first few lines, just with different file names.

Nevermind, seems it won't let me upload it. Hopefully the piece of the error log pasted in contains any necessary info.

How was the file removed from My Documents? If it was first placed in the Recycle bin, then you need to search for items in the Recycle Bin, not My Documents.

Thanks for the idea...

I really have no idea how it was removed... I tried to open it a day or so after it was last saved and it simply wasn't there, or anywhere else (temp folders, recycle bin, etc) , the backup file that OpenOffice made was corrupted, and there were no other documents anywhere on the hard drive that matched it for size or date modified, regardless of name. A mystery. Other unerase type programs have found it in My Documents, where it used to be, but haven't been able to recover it. I'm hoping Recuva might be the one that can.

I'm still unsure of how to search even the Recycle Bin, though - again, it only searches the I386 and Windows folders, not any other part of the drive. I'd be happy to search the entire C drive, if it would let me.
