Free? No, but web hosting is dirt cheap. I recommend A Small Orange (asmallorange.com), I'm a happy customer.
I've always had reliable free hosting with www.freewebs.com or with Yahoo Geocities
Though you are limited to just uploading you files, no server side access like database scripting, forums etc.
For that you will need real webspace / webhosting or you own personal webserver.
I use dot5hosting.com for my internetrotsyourbrain.com, I paid $60 a year, and it's got awesome bandwidth, and storage. I have ever used even half of it a month.
Having just started my own site, I've done a lot of research into finding a good free host. I finally settled with Profuse.
So far it's held up to everything I need and more. Plus the support is really good, especially for a new user.
You will never get a free website hosting. Infact, u may get cheaper to expensive plans to host your website.
