According to Lusher's post over at Spyware Warriors it's a rebranded version of Private Firewall which rates as "very good" over at Matousec Firewall Testers

With DSA active my MS virtual machines couldn't connect out with no way to allow or any warnings given by DSA.
Only way for the vm's to connect was to disable DSA.
I did email DSA about this a while ago and they responded they were aware of the prob but I don't know if it has been fixed as yet as I have stopped using it.

Lusher thinks you might have a problem with your setup configuration as Lusher as never had problems with running DSA in
virtual machines. Lusher used VMware though.

May Humpty take the liberty to clarify further.
Humpty says that DSA works fine in his vm's.
When DSA was installed in the real system then none of his vm's could connect to the net.

Lusher notes that when Lusher wrote that vm's work fine, lusher obviously meant that everything was working, including Lusher's internet connection.
Lusher wonders if humpty might have blocked something by mistake?
It's not really free at all!
I tried to download it and kept getting an error message, so I wrote to support and was told that this FW is only free if you are a current subscriber to spysweeper with AV

Filled out the screens and got the registration code OK.
There was this in the registration email, but it don't think it means that you can't have it:
If you are an existing Webroot Spy Sweeper or WebrootAntiVirus with AntiSpyware and Firewall customer, you will not
be prompted to enter this key code during installation.
I am not an existing customer.
Have not installed it. Probably won't. But I got everything I need.
FYI, have had good results from most of webroot's products, really bad results from their help/support function. Don't pay attention to them, just try the download from Andavari's link. Hope it works OK.
That's the very same link I tried to download from, login123. I fill in my personal details and click "submit", but I keep getting an error message (I've tried this on several computers: my home computer, my workplace, a friend's computer...) and I keep getting the same message. So I wrote to webroot for support and they told me I cannot install it unless I'm a subscriber of spysweeper with AV. That's what they told me. I don't know more.
Maybe this firewall is not available in my country (Spain).

Well, I have an old version of webroot's window washer installed and running . Had spysweeper also but uninstalled it, too many conflicts, too little help. They may still have my information from those days.
There is a trial version of spysweeper which has limited functions available at:

I wouldn't install spysweeper even if I knew it would enable the download of the free firewall; too many conflicts, too little help. But it is available.
I wish you much luck getting the firewall. Maybe some other member will suggest an good way to do it.

But if you change the country by the drop-down box on the top right of the page to USA or UK, it is mentioned for those countries.
You're right hazelnut, the FW is not mentioned in the Spanish website.
Anyway, it's no big deal. I can live without this firewall. I was just a bit surprised by webroot's answer to my question, telling me to subscribe to spysweeper in order to get the firewall
