Vista 64

I have successfully installed CCleaner on my Vista 64 machine. It appears to run fine but two things concern me:

1. There is a note on the site expressing caution about using the product on a Vista 64 Machine

2. In my system I came up with an amazing number of errors to repair.

Are there any known issues preventing me from just hittin "Fix"?

Hi Hesh13,

Welcome to the forums. :D

We enjoy new members like you because of the great questions that you submit.

Answer 1. This note is Piriform's way of being straight forward with it's millions and potentially as many more user's. I have been a "new user" for 10 months now and when I first started there were a few problems reported each week by XP 64 and Vistas 64 bit users. These problems did seem to be specific to them. Over time I have seen less and less 64 bit problems being reported. These problems were all minor problems that were found and fixed. Lately there have been few if any 64-bit specific problems being reported.

Answer 2. Having Issues found is one thing and "repairing" them is another. MOST users have "Issues" reported. Do they require "fixing" ? NO, in most cases. The majority of all "Issues" are all a build up of "orphaned" entries over time. They do not take up much space or slow down MOST users systems to any noticeable degree. Since you have asked then I would feel it is "safest for you" to leave these "Issues" alone. They are only significant to those that do many, many installs and uninstalls of sometimes "dubious software products".

I would not use "any" Registry changing software without first being secure with good "Backup" and "Recovery" procedures in place, in use and well understood. We care about all our users.
