Whenever I run the cleaner, my antivirus software pops up with a warning that it has quarentined these two unwanted programs. This happens on two different computers, one running Windows XP and one running Vista. The only common denominator I can find is running CCleaner and Webroot Internet Security Essentials.
Neither WISE, Avast, Norton, nor Malwarebytes Antimalware program can find any trace of these programs on my systems when CCleaner is not running, but it always comes up when I run the cleaner. Is there really a virus present or is something else going on?
If you are sure you are clean, and as it only happens when you run ccleaner, it sounds like Webroot Internet Security Essentials may be finding a false positive.
I presume you downloaded ccleaner from a realiable sorce.
Perhaps contacting them about it may clear things up

I downloaded it direct from Piriform - I assume that is a reliable source. I'm not 100% sure I'm clean because virii, particularly Virtumonde, are tricky little SOB's. But I don't know how to find out.
Perhaps you may like to post in the spyware hell section of our forum here, and perhaps put a link to this thread as well if you need to post there, along with anything else such as a Hijack This Log

take note of the ''Before you post!'' section at the top of that page.
Near as I can tell from what I am reading there, it is a false positive. I certainly can't find it with any of the things Rorshach reccomends. The question is, what do I do about it?
EDIT: Got an email back from Webroot and they think it is a false positive too. They recommend uninstalling and reinstalling CCleaner, which I tried but it didn't change anything.
Contact Webroot and inform them about it.
I'm not sure if it was reinstalling CCleaner or updating the Webroot software, but I haven't seen it since doing both.
