Version 7 notification

Just received a notification (the 1st) that version 7 was available. With all of the reports of issues here , no way would I update!

It updated to Ver. 7 on my machine automatically and I’m not impressed. The interface has been dumbed down and the options no longer give you the opportunity to open the program on the custom scan page rather than that awful health check one. In short I hate it so I uninstalled it and ferretted around until I found a download of Ver. 6.37 to install. Much better although I was angered by the high handed message that told me that if I chose not to update they would come into my machine after about a year and update it for me “to help avoid stability and security issues”. Well, Piriform, that’s not your job. You don’t get to tell me that you consider my system to be unstable or insecure and then take it upon yourselves to install software on my PC I don’t want. That’s my job and if it’s a risk (I doubt it) and I choose to run that risk, then that is MY responsibility. To that end I have set up incoming and outgoing firewall rules for all the .exe files in the CCleaner program folder to stop you. If somehow you do manage to update my PC to Ver. 7 despite this I will uninstall it immediately and find other software to do system cleaning because at that point I would consider that you had hacked my PC to do it and that will not be tolerated.

I’m on the free version of 6.39 and turned off the auto update option. That way , only a notification that a new version pops up and not an auto update.
