3.09 was working fine, scanning the system is less than a minute. I installed 3.10 and cancelled after 30 minutes. I went back to 3.09 and the speed is back to normal. Anyone else having this issue?
I think you are going to have to give a bit more info such as which operating system you use and what service pack you have installed.
Where did you download it from?
Have you rebooted lately?
Anything big in your recycle bin?
Also do you have Secure Deletion enabled, and do you have Wipe Free Space enabled? Wipe Free Space alone could add that amount of time very easily.

Yeah, it's slow as Molasses.

OS is Win 7 Pro x64. SP1 with all updates. Downloaded from Piriform. Rebooted to now avail. The recycle bin is not the problem. It's the Firefox cache where it was scanning one file very several minutes.

Secure Deletion is not enabled. Wipe Free Space is enabled for the C: partition, which only contains OS essentials and no data or programs, but it was set that way for 3.09 also. I didn't chamge any options. just upgraded over the older version.
When I get a chance I'll try it again.
After a reformat of Windows 7, the problem no longer exists. For me at least.....
Seems to be intermittent.
CCleaner may work great on some systems, but then on others, it may slow down very slow.
I too, was testing 3.10 on another user's PC, that did NOT have secure wipe enabled, & they had a fast computer with plenty of unused ram on XP SP2.
It seemed to slow a lot, taking anywhere from several seconds, to a minute or two on firefox cache folders.
The other parts did not seem to take as long.
This was with Firefox 7.05 beta, & I sure did wonder what would cause it to take several minutes.
Total trash removed was only 465 or so MB, & the drive had recently be defraggled, so the file space was not really fragmented enough to cause this problem.
Hope someone looks into the problem, because when CCleaner is running fast, it's great, but I hate when sometimes it runs very slow.
Edit: User had no other programs running at the moment, except AVG 2011, & computer otherwise ran fast when using other programs. CCleaner runs good on my system at the moment, but on the user pc I was testing on, CCleaner seemed to lag horribly on the firefox Cache folders. I believe that the other parts of the PC cleaning were done in seconds, so I was wondering, just what causes CCleaner so lag so, while cleaning Firefox Cache folders at times?
I also have XP on my desktop at the moment, with Firefox 7.05 beta, & CCleaner 3.10, & it seems to work good at the moment.
Anyone know what causes this?
