Use of RegEdit option in Cleaner

When selecting this option: Cleaner -> Programs -> Windows option RegEdit

will CCleaner just erase unnecessary records in the registry, or will it give a list of records, that will be cleaned, so I can deside if I will clean them?

Hi Mathilda :)

Where abouts in the ccleaner program are you seeing this option Cleaner -> Programs -> Windows option RegEdit?

Hi Mathilda :)

CCleaner opens in default in "Cleaner" with the two tags: Windows and Programs.

The Programs tag contains on my PC these headers: Firefox, Programs, Internet, Multimedia, Tools and Windows.

The Windows header contains these options: MS Paint, MS Wordpad and RegEdit.

This is the RegEdit option I am asking about.

Mathilda

Hi MAthilda that entry only removes the last location information. EXAMPLE:if you were looking at HKCU>Software>mircosoft>internet explorer the last time you used regedit the next time you open regedit it will go to the same spot. Ccleaner just makes it so when you open Regedit next all branchs are closed

I see what you are referring to. I am not sure though and am quite curious now what it is cleaning in the registry. I'm sure a develop or maybe even a smarter person than myself can answer that for us :)

EDIT:

Woops, Nergal answered and after testing his answer, he is correct. It deletes the last location information.

Your question is answered now mathilda by nergal. I just wanted to make sure you were talking about a 'normal' clean and not the registry one.

Welcome to the forum by the way :)
