As of today, I can no longer run CCleaner. When I click on run cleaner, I get a popup trying to sell me an upgrade. It doesn't even have an option for no thanks. I can dismiss it and click again on run cleaner, but then the popup returns. Is the free version no longer allowed?
I thought they had stopped doing this.
Others have reported that reinstalling CCleaner had fixed this issue for them.
Download an installer from here and double click it to install a new CCleaner: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds
Make a note of your licence key if you are going to uninstall before installing a new one.
I'm using free version and the popup is disabling ability to use. Is the free version no longer free? It worked last night.
My bad, of course if you have a licence key then you won't see this anyway.
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling CCleaner?
I hope the free option is still free and that Piriform/Avast/Norton haven't decided to push the paid option through behind the scenes.
I uninstalled/reinstalled free version and all is well, at least for now.
