Have a read of some of the posts already here about the ‘Official’ v7, you may be happier staying with v6.39 for now.
If you decide that you do want to update to v7 then you can download an installer from the Builds page: Download CCleaner builds | CCleaner Portable, Slim, and more
Hi,
So I better wait untill the version 7 is fixed?
Will I be informed ?
Thanks.
Nobody currently has the answers to those questions.
We are all waiting for some replies from the CCleaner staff.
Ok, thank you for your explanation.
Kind regards,
M.
Hi,
Is there in the meantime already a solution to get the update working ?
If the install of v7 is getting stuck for you then try this:
Go into Windows Settings and set the display scale to 100%.
Run CCleaner 7 and get past the Welcome Screen.
Set your display scale back to what it was.
If it’s something else then please describe exactly how you are trying to do the update and what happens when you try to install.
Hi,
I did as you told me, but the update package version 7 even doesn’t start installing.. even though in task manager there is a background process of Ccleaner install..
OK that background process will be the installer starting and running but it looks like it cannot reach the server it needs to download the update from.
Are you running an Antivirus app or other security software that may be blocking the needed connection?
(Anything other than Microsoft Defender).
(I’d look in particular for something blocking connection to ‘avcdn. net’ (without the space) which is the Content Delivery Network used by CCleaner.).
Indeed I have Bitdefender security, but there’s nothing regarding avcdn which blocks anything (firewall). Also I tried installing version 7 of Ccleaner with disabling anti-virus, but to no avail.
Still, in task manager, the processes of Ccleaner are there, but nothing happens..
All I can suggest is that you roll back to v6.39 for now:
Hi @Mossike,
May I ask what version of Windows you are running?
Windows 11 Home 24H2 build 26120.1350
Thanks @Mossike, please contact our support team via the Contact Us page on our Help Centre using the same email address you used to make your purchase. Once you have clicked Submit, please click the Start Chat button to give details to an agent so we can investigate this further.
Hi,
I was chatting with the tech guy of Piriform (CCleaner) during more than an hour via remote session. He tried whatever he could, but the problem persists. So he is going to send the issue to his technical developers department and they will come back to me with a solution later on.
Glad you were able to get in contact with the team @Mossike.
Please message me back if you have not had a follow up from the technical team within 48 hours so I can follow up on this.
Hi again,
I had contact with Jan from support who told me to run the CCleaner Support Tool and create a log file, which I did.
So I hope he comes back with a solution.
Kind regards,
Mario
Ccleaner7 is useless. Please follow the instructions from nukecad in order to
continue using version 6.39 without the endless attempts for unsuccessful upgrade to 7.
