Many bloated programs like HP printer software, Microsoft Office, etc., will install sub-components that are required. The sub-components are normally hidden in Add or Remove Programs, however many uninstaller tools will list them. You run the risk of breaking the main application if you remove it's sub-components.
all these companies are basically getting paid to put junk on your computer
The sub-components I was referring to have nothing to do with adware, spyware, or anything like that. What you're thinking of is a third-party software add-on which could be adware or spyware, or some toolbar.
For instance HP printer software may or will install a portion of the Sonic CD burning engine they're licensed to use which allows you to create a photo CD with the HP printer software. Now if you remove that Sonic CD burning sub-component you can't burn a photo CD with the printing software anymore.

Thanks so much for telling me about the "Uninstall Tool" program. It is excellent. I found whast I needed to know. You are genius.
What i want to know plz is how you put them all back in from the cleaner without having to do a full reformat.....the things it took out....i don't want out.....but there doesn't seem to be a way to put them back into the add/remove without starting completely from scratch..i'm not computer literate so hope there is some way to solve this.....tyty

You can reinstall a program to get it's uninstall link back.
It wouldn't be necessary to reinstall any programs to get the uninstall link back if they include their own uninstall.exe, uninst.exe in their program folder. Software compiled with installers like Inno Setup typically always have an unins000.exe file to get rid of the software and some people will make their software have an uninstall link in the programs start menu group.
