Today has already started off interesting. I woke up to an email stating I purchased a pro license for CCleaner. The kicker is I was sleeping when that email went through.
I thought it was a phishing attempt at first but I saw my card attached and my bank statement has a pending transaction.
As a bottomline this wasn’t me, nor anyone I know as I’ve never made an account or wanted anything more then the free license to use. I’ve contacted support (maybe?) and hope they can make it right.
Outside of disputing the charge with my bank, is there anything else I can do? Do they have a contact number? Are they good with refunds?
If this can’t happen, then this will be a piece of software in my tool kit that I can never recommend again, and quite frankly I’m disappointed that this happened in the first place
How did you do that?
The best way is to use the enquiry form which can be found here, where it asks for an email use the one that the purchase confirmation email was sent to:
@Laurence_CCleaner can look further into this for you, it may be Monday before he is at work.
The one thing that I would point out here is that someone at some time has given your email address and your card/bank details to Cleverbridge (the payment processors for CCleaner), they haven’t counjured those details out of thin air.
Is the email that you received confirmation of a new purchase? (With a new licence key).
Or is it confirmation of a yearly subscription renewal?
