Unable to Submit CC License Key for New Install Unlock

Hello to the CC community.

I have been using CC for I believe 20 years now and have seen good business decisions made about the core program and the more recent capability enhancements.

I have had a professional license for a few years and it has been worth it.

I enjoy people talking about "cleaning the registry" and the impending doom of doing so. With CC I have hammered the registry once, and it was my fault for terminating the application while it was still processing. I make it a point to torment Win 10's registry and see how far I can get to have enough resources to go back in and fix it. All I can say about what seems a waste of time to many happens to be the greatest learning tool to understand what the registry is, what it does, and why it exists. I suppose that one needs a passionate curiousity about it, BSODland is nowhere to spend time unless the sacrafice was in some way worth it.

CC has been reliable to me for all the years I have used it, and consider it the last "real" piece of software as others I have respected in the past went off the rails, like Symantec.

Now that I have that out of the way, I would like to ask the community about my inability to submit my license key to unlock a new install. The only dialogue I get is the attached error message saying it is not my fault (how unusual!). Error code: ALPHA (0xAB000003) I have attempted several times and can't get it to accept my key.

Please take a look at the attached image and if anyone has any background, I would like to hear from you. I was going to uninstall, then surgically remove any traces in folders and carefully examine registry entries, then reinstall to see if I can alter the outcome. But then I thought if it is Piriform's license server, R&R of the application would then be only self-flagellation.

I would like to say thank you in advance for any guidance, and I wish the community to dwell in Peace and be the examples that the world seems to be short of these days.

With my greatest respect,

The liecence server does seem to have been having intermittent issues this week.

I first noticed it on Thursday, it couldn't find details of existing licences for an hour or so.

Others have repoered various issues with it on and off.

I've already flagged it up and will add yours to the report.

So as that notice says 'Try again later', it will probably be back on. (It's finding my licence details OK at the moment).

If it hasn't cleared up for you then you should email support@ccleaner.com and ask for their help.

But TBH if it's an intermittent server glitch then support won't be able to do much more than you can, someone needs to find what's causing the glitch and fix it.

The main manifestation of this issue on Thursday and Friday was impacting folks with the old style longer licence keys:

But there would have been other intermittent issues with licence registration and checking licence status during this time as well. That said @Ant1c0rr3lat10n I note that you posted this issue here over the weekend, which suggests that it happened to you over the weekend - so this may be something else.

If you tried to register on Friday and got this error, could I trouble you to try again please?

If this happened over the weekend, and isn't due to some transitory connectivity issue then we'd need to investigate further.
