My daughter is trying to install the lastest update on Window 11 on an hp laptop wth a 14inch screen…BUT the initial pop-up that tells you about it is too big for the screen so she can’t get to the button at the bottom to close it - it can’t be resized by clicking and dragging, you can’t drag it higher to reach the bottom as the mouse stops at the top of the screen, there’s no resize button and it won’t resize using Ctrl and minus! So she can’t close it, and so can’t confirm installation and activation etc.
Can anyone help? Is this an isue for anyone else? Or are we missing something obvious??!
At last I was able to contact support - only via a link in one on the threads on the forum though!
I used their chat bot, who actually came up with some good suggestions. We tried this one:
Change display scaling settings temporarily:
Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select “Display settings.”
Under the “Scale & layout” section, look for “Scale.” It might be set to a higher percentage.
Try changing it to a lower percentage (we did it at 100%) temporarily. This might make the pop-up window appear smaller and allow you to access the buttons.
…which worked. Though on the second try the initial pop-up didn’t apprear anyway!
