Ua1.lunrac.com virus

Anybody have this on their machine. Norton tells me I have it in my browsers FF and Chrome. CC has not detected it why?

CCleaner is not an anti-virus programme, it is simply a cleaner for temporary and other junk files.

Let Norton deal with the virus, that is an anti-virus programme.

You may also want to run an Anti-malware scan with something like Malwarebytes (other AVs/AMs are available) to get a 'second opinion' anti-malware check of your computer:

Is this not offering Malware removal advice?

Malware Removal advice would be trying to give step by step instruction/help.

We point people to where they can get such help, but it's not allowed on here.

(Malwarebytes is one of the places where we point them, they are listed in the forum rules at point 10).

In this case it's a pointer to the (free version) software itself, if that finds a problem then a pointer to one-to-one remidiation would be appropriate.

You did not point anyone to any Disinfection forum. You said run MBAM before any mention of a forum with no direct link regarding the help forum. Your advice did not mention only running a THREAT SCAN while in the meantime suggested other software was ready available leaving the user open to blind googling.

@Nicon I would like you to stop being so verbally aggressive if you can.

We are all doing our best to be helpful on forum.

Calm down okay ?

Where was the aggression? Its a violation of your own rules.

See this rule

12: The Piriform Staff requires that members respect the decision of moderators.

Threads and posts questioning the actions or decisions of forum moderations will be deleted on sight, and the appropriate action taken (up to and including forum bans) against the thread starter and/or participants.

And what decision has been made I'm arguing against? Nuke offered advice that not only goes against this forum's rule but goes against what MBAM sticky says. Stop making this a big issue.

@nicon,

what is it exactly you are trying to achieve here?

you are not adding to the OP's problem, you have offered no advice.

if you feel aggrieved in some manner, take it up further with a Private Message.

nukecad gave direction with where benburd could go, there was no 'how to...' or 'what do to...' given.

please remain on topic.
