Transfer stuff on VHS to play on home DVD player

Is there any decent freeware around to transfer a couple of hours of stuff on VHS to DVD?

Googled, but didn't come up with much. ;)

You need to use something like dscaler to record the vcr input to a raw file. or if you have a fairly fast pc, you can record directly to a compressed file. then, just use something like dvd flick or convertxtodvd to convert it.
