why does speccy show programs that are not installed and been uninstalled months ago...ie

I dont have Outpost firewall been about a year since that was removed....webroot three months gone...ect..ect?

Maybe outpost et al left behind registry entries, but still odd that they show.

anyone else give this question a shot...a dev out there??

similarly to how CC still shows entries for removed programs (due to the trigger for those programs still existing), maybe Speccy is doing the same.

so you could either reinstall those program just to uninstall them again and see if that process does a 'more complete' job the second time.

or see if those programs offer a removal tool that digs deeper.


or, something like Revo, where you can do a trace search for a program and remove all residual locations, even in the Registry.  <span style="font-size:12px;">(but that may only be in the paid-for version)</span>
