I LOST EVERYTHING! I am a business, and all of my most important files are GONE!
I feel like hiring an attorney and filing a Class Action Lawsuit against them!!!

I definately want to sue! I am a Bookkeeping Business, and I lost everything after the forced upgrade!
The computer repair guy charged me $450.00 to reinstall Windows 11, and I lost all of my programs and files!
My files now start at 10-01-2022! I am LIVID!

Of course being a professional Business you have all your workfilles backed up at least daily like any prudent professional business does as a matter of routine.
(BTW it’s a pretty poor computer repair setup that would just reinstall Windows without making a copy of your files first, but they do exists).
PS. I have removed your business contact number; advertising is not allowed.
I encourage you to hire an attorney and sue for the cost of fixing your computer. I also encourage you to ditch CC Cleaner. Avast is a bad company. We were upgraded to professional without our authorization. Our bank is now investigating Avast for fraud and theft. Run away from these scammers!
Did you not have any backup especially a disk image to before the upgrade?
no backup. spent 350 to repair and reload w11. windows has other tools safer for cleaning. will never use the product again. Will request inital cost of product refund and will report on social media what a horrible experience dealing with this.
well I had the same thing happen, BUT i made a backup
. funny thing is the duplicate finder corrupted my backup
. now i’m running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in admin cmd and then sfc/scannow and praying. Why a company would be crazy enough to release a function this dangerous boggles the mind. It’s like they’re begging for a class action. From what i’ve researched their group of beta testers warned them about it but they didn’t listen.
How did it mess up your backup? A backup should never be connected to the PC unless backing up, or restoring files. If it’s connected, it’s not a backup.
For future reference, you should have at least two as well. Three is even better for really important files. Storage is cheap.
it was a windows restore point but it got corrupted some how. i’m guessing because the duplicate remover damaged key windows image files. i had to use the following sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. just to get my comp to work right
A restore point? That’s not a backup, not even close.
The whole point of a backup, is that it can’t be messed up by anything, virus’, user error, update. Because it’s on it’s own drive, not even connected to the computer.
Oh well, consider it a lesson well learned, and get a backup drive, better yet two. There are many free programs for backups. Or there is the built in “Back up and Restore (windows 7)”, which has always worked well for me. Not sure why they don’t update the name, but it has never failed me.
