The name Piriform?

Does anyone know the origins of the company name and why it was chosen??

I'm guessing it's a play on the phrase "gone pear-shaped" or perhaps it's MrG's favourite fruit. :D

They're charging that much for tomatoes? Good thing I can just go pick them right out of my garden, and for free.

It's been asked before and yes it is ;)

Its simple. From my understanding, the idea for the company logo, its like a form that resembles a pear so in this case its like a "peary-form" and just shorten that to Piriform. But whatever it is, we just like to use their products that's why we are here.

Over thinking it a bit there I think. For the sake of clearing it up once and for all (again):

Of course, that was very interesting that they do "pear shaped" tomatoes.

I see no reason for confusion, however, as pears are easily distinguishable from even the "pear shaped" tomatoes.

Good job you pointed it out that it's easy to spot the difference between a pear and a tomato or I would never have known

 I think I asked this same question many many moons ago :D
