The date in the certificate is invalid or has expired

Hi there,

I’ve never had this problem before. I can’t publish a link otherwise I get this error & yes I already uninstalled & reinstalled.

I’m on Win 7, but I was a month ago too.

Please help, it was working a month or so ago.

On that page you gave me it says it’s vs v7.07.1313, not the one you mentioned, do you want me to install that one?

I have made an error, I did not notice that you were talking about Speccy and assumed wrongly that you were talking about CCleaner. My apologies.

It may be due to your system clock being wrong or your SSL certs are out of date and with you being on an old version of windows it may be hard to update them.

My clock is correct. I’m not on toxic daylight savings time.

So are you saying you coded it so I can no longer use it on Win 7? Why not? It was working a month or so ago.

Speccy was last updated in June 2024, to v1.33, and hasn’t changed since then.

However I can confirm what @OurFreeSociety is reporting.

I have just tried myself to publish a snapshot from Speccy and I get the same ‘Certificate expired’ message.
So it looks like someone forgot to pay the bill and renew it.

@Laurence_CCleaner it appears that an update is needed to the Speccy certification, (probably the SSL has expired), could you poke someone to get it updated ASAP before we start to get more complaints:

Oh good, someone who actually tested it & it’s not just me. I thought the other two tested it.

Everyone always blames my Win 7 & my browser which doesn’t spy on me as much as all the other ones.

@Laurence_CCleaner 3-weeks on and the certificate is still invalid/expired.

Surely it’s not that difficult to renew?

This has been reported to the development team, and so it is waiting for prioritisation with them.
I will follow up to see if we can get it prioritised.

@Laurence_CCleaner tell the Dev’s that on sites such as Bleepingcomputer the experts ask/tell members who are having computer problems to download Speccy and publish the logs.

If the logs can’t be published because of an expired certificate then they will turn elsewhere and stop asking/telling people to download Speccy.

To me an expired certificate would seem to be an issue for purchasing to address rather than the software developers?

The development team has updated the certificate and I have tested snapshot publishing, and the issue is now resolved.

Apparently it was updated a few days ago.

One of the members on Bleeping Computer forum had posted on the 4th that it was working for him.
