Hello. I have a subscription showing in Google play store showing valid until September 2025 however when I use the app it’s telling me to upgrade and pay again. Can anyone offer any advice thanks
Lets see if we can work out what may be going on here.
Did you originally purchase through the Play store, (last month?)
Or did you originally activate CCleaner Android using a multi-device CCleaner Pro Plus or Premium key?
Is it possible that you had activated with a Pro+/Premium key originally, but then bought CCleaner for Android again through the Play Store last month?
That could explain what you are seeing if the old Pro+/Premium key is still in use on the app and is expiring.
Alternatively is it possible that you had originally purchased a subscription through the Play Store, but have now purchased again rather than renewing that subscription? Maybe using a different Google account?
When purchased through the Store then that purchase/subscription is linked to the Google account in use when it was purchased.
Hello thanks for your reply. I’d already purchased the year before and I had a prompt from play store to renew. I only have one Google account linked to both play store and the app. Hope this helps
It does help clarify things, thanks.
However it leaves us in a bit of a hole to give advice here because when you purchase through the Play Store then CCleaner has no record of that purchase/activation.
It’s all to do with the way that Google does their licencing.
At one time you could only get a licence for CCleaner Android through the Play Store and couldn’t activate with an existing CCleaner multi-device key.
(That’s currently still the case for CCleaner iOS - Apple Store only).
What all that means is that it’s Google Play Store that you will need to contact about the problem and not CCleaner themselves.
I would guess that either your Play Store subscription hasn’t updated for some reason, or that you have purchased a new subscription rather than renewing the existing one?
Another guess - If you look at the one on the Play Store that says September 2025 is it also asking you to install it? If so then that would possibly indicate that you purchased a new one rather than renewing the old one.
