Stronger ccleaner wanted

I use ccleaner at least 10 times a day.

I have it set to clean everything

I clean the registry (every thing that shows) daily.

I Never have backed up the registry nor will I.

I never use anti-virus nor have I ever had one.

I have used computers daily since the late 1970s without the sort of trouble that virus'. malware etc bring because I am too savvy to get these noobie problems. -Not bragging just the facts.

But I feel Ccleaner is not getting it all.... for instance:

After a browser crash (watching Youtube videos) and a ccleaning

the next time I run the browser (seamonkey) it asks do I wish to restore the last session..... if ccleaner has cleaned everything how does it still remember I was somewhere on the net.

..I have everything disabled in the browser. So why is it 'remembered' ?

I want a much stronger cleaner that basically returns the absolute cleanest results.

I would like to see/have a cleaner that prevents any program from EVER accessing the Internet or remembering unless I click my approval. (anyone remember the old Zone Alarm)

Every start up I have to open up the task manager to disable and prevent programs from automatically 'calling home'.

I always unplug my Internet connection when I'm not using the 'net.

I don't use anything mobile so my only concern is a PC with the last windows product I will ever use; WIN7.

I NEVER upgrade as it's always for the worst ( re the ugly disaster that ccleaner 5 or the win 10 interface is. ( I call it, win 10, the operating system for the finger painting fisherprice kiddie generation... and it is.)

So like I asked... is there something 'stronger' ?

Yes there is something stronger - what you want is to run a Virtual Machine so the virtual hard drive can be 'nuked from space' after every time you use it.

or one of those programs that 'freezes' the PC in a known, stable state that gets put back to that state upon every restart.

that is the ONLY way to run a PC without ANY sort of protection.

I don't care how savvy you think you are - these malware writers (the good ones) are magnitudes more savvy then us (well OK, me at least and I'm not too egotistical to admit that).

some of your PC problems could be malware related but since you have no protection, how would you know.

I don't see how any advice can be offered before the PC gets a full, system-wide virus and malware scans, maintenance, and updates. but it sounds like your PC will have Buckley's chance of that ever happening.

First off, connecting to the 'net without malware protection is a truly bad idea.

If you get tagged by one of those malwares that alters the boot code, you can be infected and never know it.

May already be, actually.

Yes there are stronger cleaners.

There are softwares which restrict net access, but they are not cleaners.

There are softwares which restrict other softwares from running, they are not cleaners either.

Virtual machine, suggested by mta, is a good idea.

Alternatively, if you just want to delete your 'net history, try this.

Use Sandboxie, run a portable version of your favorite browser in a sandbox, delete the sandbox each time you log off.

Some protection, but not absolute.

Just yesterday I managed somehow to produce a sandboxed folder that wouldn't delete.

File properties showed 1 folder no files, but that was not true, it had many files in it, it was the folder for Qupzilla in a sandbox.

Tried Unlocker, Eraser, Pocket Killbox. Wouldn't delete.

Fell back to one of those softwares referred to by mta above as ". . . one of those programs that 'freezes' the PC . . .".

Folder gone after a restart.

Thank you both for answering.

I don't have "PC problems".

Everything runs very fast and is completely suitable for my use.

The guts of what I was asking is this part "...

I know WHY the browser crashed it's the Adobe Flashplayer calling home to 'register' that particular use of it. - Thats no big deal and has nothing to do with that original question... Why has CC not totally erased the browser's memory?

By the way I have evaded all forms of malware and virus over the years by NOT allowing installed programs or web parasites from accessing.

I don't visit any 'restricted' websites and almost NEVER reply to any email.

Once I have a program that does what I want, I avoid updating it - as I see no reason too and updates are unnecesary if the previous version does what you want it too.

Updates today are made to be even more intrusive, intended to datamine your web trail and add even more bloat for you to put up with.

Most updates now are to make the website run on little handheld with only a few large images to 'touch' and a very minimum of words. Consequently, for a PC user on the web now in requires several pages of the screen to tell you what one page said before.

In order to use ccleaner to its full strength, you need to update to v5

i could be wrong but ff improvement equal to ff-based improvement which include seamonkey

or you can use winapp2.ini or create your own cleaning rule through winapp2.ini
