Startup manager does not work in CC7

In the Startup Manager, when you click on “Manage Apps” the following message appears: “Something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.” This is followed by a “Got It” button which closes the popup. Nothing else happens.

Hi @AlanMintaka,
This error may indicate that the CCleaner 7 service is not running.
Please click the Windows button and type Services, then locate the CClenaer 7 services (see the attached image). Check that it is running, and if not, right click and select start.

I have the same problem. I checked and the CCleaner7 service is running.

Same problem here. I checked the following as suggested by chatgpt, but everything looks good, but ccleaner is not working.

  1. Run CCleaner as Administrator
  • Close it, right-click CCleaner → Run as administrator.
(Without elevation it can’t read HKLM or scheduled tasks, so it often shows 0 items.)
  1. Restart Windows services it relies on
  • Press ⊞ Win, type Services, open it.

  • Make sure Task Scheduler is Running. If not, start/restart it.

  1. Let CCleaner through Windows Security
  • Windows Security → Virus & threat protectionRansomware protectionControlled folder access.
If it’s on, add CCleaner64.exe as an allowed app (or temporarily turn it off to test).
  1. Update or repair CCleaner
  • Install the latest build or do a quick reinstall (corrupted install often triggers this generic error).
  1. Reset CCleaner settings (optional)
  • Close CCleaner, delete %AppData%\CCleaner\ (this only resets preferences), then reopen as admin.

@Laurence_CCleaner do you have any news? The problem is blocking our workflow.

Thank you.

I have the same.

Service is working. I’ve sent by CCleanerSupportTool file 94M9Z

I have this issue on my PC and my laptop - my teenagers have this issue on their laptops too

I have the same Problem, there seems no solution and no intrest to fix. Chat-Servece wanted access to my PC, but thats not possible. Service is running. I got the problem on a second PC. One W1125H2 one W1022H2. Now I installed the version 6 again (with settings blocking update), it is running. If there nothing will hapen I do not spend money again.

Did not solve the problem!

@Laurence_CCleaner are you working on this bug?

Have the same problem. Button “Manage apps“ just not working. The new design issues are making me lose my mind every single day

Hi All,
This issue is being investigated by our development team and we hope to have a fix available soon.

I have the same problem. I tried all your recomendation - nothing works.

Some Admin said this was going to get fixed 11 days ago. So, when’s it going to get fixed?? Hmmmm?? Piriform had better get their ducks in a row, or I’m going to cancel my subscription and find another cleaning solution. This V7 update has been a Charlie Foxtrot and highly annoying from the very beginning.
