Start up windows services problem. Disabled files

When I turn on my PC, “PACE Licences Services” is disabled from CCleaner Start Up Windows Services. This causes certain programs (like Cubase) not to work.
I enable it from CCleaner and everything works.
But next time I turn on the PC the same happens.
I also tried fixing the problem from Windows->Services and reboot, with no luck.
How can I tell CCleaner to keep PACE enabled all the time?

Have you set Performance Optimizer to put it to sleep?

If so then wake it up again and leave it in the ‘Active Programs’.

No, it’s not listed under Sleeping Programs…

In that case the either something else is turning it off, or it isn’t set to start with Windows in the first place?

Are you running Win10 or Win11 ?

A quick search for "PACE Licences Services not starting at boot” finds that it is a well know and pretty common issue.
Unfortunately it appears that many different things can cause it.
eg. Do you have “Bonjour” installed, maybe along with iTunes for Windows? Some users have said that if Bonjour is disabled it will also prevent PLS from running.

You are just using CCleaner’s Startup tool ‘enable’ to turn it on, and then it’s getting turned off again when you Shutdown or Restart.

If you didn’t have CCleaner you could turn it on in the same way by enabling it in Task Manager’s Startup tab. (Which is probably quicker than opening CCleaner to do it).

Have a look in Windows>Settings>Apps>Startup to see if it is listed there and if it’s On or Off.

Alternatively look in Task Scheduler, as CCleaner can see it as a Startup Task then it should be in there.
If it’s there then make sure that it is set to run at Startup. (See the next post).
If it isn’t already listed then you could add it, in other words add your own schedule to automatically run it at Startup.

To set a task to run automatically at Boot/Startup.

Open the Task scheduler and find the task. (Here I’m going to set the CCleaner Crash Reporter to run at Startup).

Right-click the task and select 'Properties, in the window that opens select ‘Triggers’.

Select ‘New’ and set ‘Begin the task’ to “At startup” - make sure that ‘Enabled’ is ticked at the bottom.

Click OK and the new startup trigger has been added.

Click OK, and close out of Task Scheduler.

From now on the task will start and run automatically whenever you startup the computer.
