Start scan after creating vhd file

I have just purchased RECUVA Prof and created a vhd file. How do I get to the next step?

When I open RECUVA again, I get exactly the same options as before: which files do I want to recover, then do I want to create a disk image or recover directly from my drive.

Does RECUVA scan the vhd file? It's not clear.
