My internet service provider in France, “Free,” systematically blocks my email accounts that I use with Thunderbird as soon as I forget to close Kamo. It’s very annoying. When do you expect to add a “split tunneling” feature that would allow users to exclude certain websites or applications from the VPN?

Thanks for taking the time to post this, and for using Kamo.
What you’re seeing with your ISP (Free), and Thunderbird is likely because they detect that your traffic is coming via a protected/“VPN-like” connection and choose to block email access while that’s active. At the moment, Kamo doesn’t include split tunneling, so when protection is enabled, it can’t selectively exclude specific apps like Thunderbird from that protected connection.
We don’t have a confirmed release date we can share for split tunneling, but your request is exactly the kind of use case we take into account when planning new features, and I’ve passed this on to the Kamo product team as feedback from the Ideas Board.
In the meantime, the only reliable workarounds are:

Temporarily closing/pausing Kamo when you need to send/receive mail via Thunderbird with Free, then turning it back on afterward.

Or, if Free offers any option to allow email access from VPN/protected connections, check with them whether they can whitelist this.
