Every time SPECCY starts it asks if I want to update. If I say yes it downloads the updated file and does absolutely nothing. The version does not change, no update is done. Still the old version running…
Is there a resolution to this bug?
Speccy can be downloaded from Speccy - Download Builds
It’ll overwrite your old copy with the new (though the only new in years is European account and privacy compliance).
Thanks. Yes, I can download and reinstall; however, I would like the update feature to work properly
Speccy is unlikely to receive any updates in the near (honestly nor far) future. Your update bug (maybe due old old certificate who knows) probably won’t carry over if you install on top of; reinstall makes me think you’re meaning to uninstall then reinstall from where I pointed, but that is exactly not what I mean.
Code/destination/certificates/data corruption are four likely causes of your issue.
The first is unlikely because it seems to only have an effect your install.
The second and third maybe because in the two updates in ten years (or more I only scanned back to April of 2016) – with the last speccy update (not just code to comply with government policies) being in 2024 – may have changed.
The fourth, and most likely, would be solved by a overwrite installation of the latest Speccy .
