Hi, I've used speccy before, and it was cool, i liked all the info, ram timings, cpu / gpu temps and data.
However after reformatting my PC, Speccy crashes my computer Every time I try to run it.
I think the first time I ran it after formatting, it crashed when reading the CPU. Now it crashes if I open the program at all - Even another program that red CPU crashed my PC (Don't remember what). What's wrong with my system?
Total freeze, can't move mouse or cntrl alt delete
Mobo: Asus p5nd2-sli (non deluxe)
OS: Win XP SP2 32 bit (framework 1-4 installed)
HD: 2x 160gb + 600gb external
ram: 4x 512mb ddr2 557 corsair value ram
CPU: P4 Prescott 660 3.6ghz
GPU: ATI Sapphire HD 5770 1gb ddr5 or XFX 9800GTX 512mb gddr3
Prior to this reformat win xp sp3 installed flawlessly, this time around it does not install smoothly, sp3 freezes or BSOD during install or after install. So its currently SP2.
It's interesting you should mention BSOD, do you remember what the STOP Code was or do you still have the crash dumps ( c:\windows\minidump )??

Hi don't know how old this thread is as I found these forums by googling,
Anyway after installing the software I have had the exact same problem where my PC freezes up i am guessing the program is not compatible with my OS,
I use windows xp professional x64 edition and this OS does not use SP3 SP2 is the latest windows update
i installed the program as I wanted to see if there was a heat problem (which there is) my graphics card is dispaying 100-103 dec C and it is indicated in RED which makes me believe there is an overheating problem (all my games are constantly crashing on freezing up)
But then the program crashes in the same manner the topic starter has quoted
any relative feedback would be appreciated cheers
