Hello,
When using CCleaner with Vista Home Premium, some of my Favorites are just wiped out. Actually, the names do remain, but the URLs are gone.
Any idea ?
Many thanks.

Hi all,
Its unfortunate that I've got to start my first post on the forum with the following:
I to, am having the exact same problem as md1946.
"When using CCleaner with Vista Home Premium, some of my Favorites are just wiped out. Actually, the names do remain, but the URLs are gone."
Could really use anyone's help on this matter, as I'm feared to use CCleaner at the moment.
Thank you in advance

When you say the URL's are missing/gone from Favorites, do you mean the bookmarks (Favorites)...? Im running Vista Business edition and I havent had any problems like the one described.
In CCleaner if you goto the 'Cleaner' section and under Windows\Internet Explorer, which items are checked?
Hi,
Yeah, its the bookmarks in favourites where the urls are deleted. The actual bookmark remains, however the link doesn't work after running CCleaner.
Hopefully the screen shots below will help.
Many thanks for your help.
P.S. you'll notice that its not the most current version, due to not using CCleaner until I can find whats causing this problem.

Its odd that the favorites files themselves are being modified. Do you have to revisit each site and create a new bookmark or manually update the existing ones? Seems like it would be a real frustrating problem.
I dont suppose it could be simple like CC is removing IE as the default browser causing favorites (and links) to not open? If that were the case I would look at the registry cleaner as a possible culprit.
Thanks for geting back so quick.
Each site has to be revisited and re-bookmarked, unfortunately, and it is indeed a real pain.
Long shot I know, but any ideas what I may be looking out for in the registry cleaner. Theres quite a few entries?
Since you have to revisit and rebookmark, that rules out the registry theory. The only thing I can think of is trying the latest version.
