  • "right click on folder/Properties/Security/
  • navigate to Group or User names, Click on User and select Full Control

  • after you finish START again the install :)

Usually, this is not the issue (unless you are trying to run the installer not as an admin with elevated access (UAC). 99.9% of this issue (error opening file for writing) is caused by ccleaner still being open (perhaps minimized to the system tray) or renaming the installer "ccleaner.exe"

for me, i just "Retry" then the installation will continue

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro. When I try to install CCleaner then I get this error message. I cannot delete the CCleaner folder from C Drive, even I cannot open that folder too but that folder is Empty folder. Please help me to solve this problem...

upload to image hosting site such as imgur and paste the direct link here...use the "Image" code

open Task Manager and check if there is ccleaner.exe process running

End it and run the installer again

no need to delete ccleaner folder
