And now, having got it to update OK previously (after the certificate issue) now it won't update again from V5.49.6856 to the latest version.
I'm running Win 10 64b and of course have recently had the latest MS update ;-)
Please sort this out.
Post note: I have now managed a manual download and install and it seems to have worked OK. Why do I pay for an automatic download and install service??

Another frustrated customer. I've used CCleaner for years, updating regularly without issues. Currently
</p>
<p>
on version 5.57 (free) on Win 10 (64-bit) with the most recent MS-pushed updates. When attempting to
</p>
<p>
upgrade to CCleaner 5.58, the files download fine, when attempting execution get a white screen, nothing
</p>
<p>
happens. I've tried the solutions offered in the prior threads, with the latest official release (5.58.7209).
</p>
<p>
What else to try? NEVER had anything other than straightforward updates before.

Some users have reported problems installing software (not just CCleaner) after a Windows update thanks to Windows deciding that you don't want to install anything that you haven't purchased from the Windows store.
To check if this has happened to you, go into the "Apps & Features" settings for Windows 10 (just start typing "Apps" in the Windows search bar) and if the "Installing Apps" option says "Allow Apps from the Store only" change it to one of the other two options to let yourself install software acquired from other places.

Hello, I have tried to do the update to the 5.48, I tried the direct download link for 5.62 and I continue to get the following screenshot, there was two different ones, have tried ignore, retry..It acts like it is updating but I am the same 5.44 version I was before. I have Malwarebytes on my system, is that effecting it? Can you provide any other help? Thank you

I have been unable to update my free CCleaner for some weeks. I get the message "error opening file for writing". I have tried the obvious such as uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing fixes it. I run Windows 10 on a laptop with the latest upgrade

Yes, I read that before I posted and tried those. So far nothing has worked. But I am also having issues with my scanner. It seems to have been from the latest Windows upgrade.

Try the CCleaner Slim installer if you haven't tried it yet, some antivirus' don't like the bundled extras that are in the Standard installer:

Check that in Settings>Apps & features you have 'Choose where to get apps' set to 'Anywhere'.
There was a glitch in one of the recent Windows 10 updates that, for some people not all, had set this to 'The Microsoft Store only' - which meant they couldn't download/install anything that didn't come from the MS store. Setting it back to 'Anywhere cures that problem (If it is what is affecting you).
Sure glad I didn't pay for pro. Tried the 14 day trial but half way through it calls for IE or enable Java and will not install. Does the world live and die by IE? It is not even on my Win 7 pro. Have not used IE since about when Fire Fox came out, 20 years maybe. I only use Fire Fox and Java Script is enabled.
You've posted on a year old thread but not to worry.
I believe that your problem is that you are still using Windows 7 and the Standard CCleaner installer needs later technology.
CCleaner still works fully on Win7 but you will need to install the latest CCleaner on Windows 7 by using the 'Slim' installer which doesn't contain the advertising screen(s) that Win7 doesn't like.
You can find the Slim installer here, third one down:

@jopa66: you too have posted on an old thread about an old version of CCleaner ? . If you're having some problems with the latest version (~30 releases later) then it's probably best to start a new thread (or join a more recent one) with specifics to see if someone can help you out.
