Software updater won’t install Microsoft Visual C++2015-2022 Redistributable (x86)

When you try to install this software update, do you get any type of error?

Thanks for this information @Jimpoolman, we will soon be releasing CCleaner v7.10, which has a large update to Software Updater.
When it is released, please update to CCleaner v7.10 and let me know if you still experience this issue?

I am using CCleaner v7.6.1275 on a Windows 10 PC and had the same issue with updating Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable Package from v14.44.35211 to 14.51.36247. However, my recent attempt was successful. So, CCleaner may have already corrected the problem. I believe the problem is related to how Microsoft has changed how Visual C++ Redistributable is now updated. Starting with latest version of the redistributable (v14.51.36347), the redistributable updates are cumulative in nature and support all active versions of Visual C++ (currently 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2026; but are backward compatible to 2016 and 2015, which are no longer supported except for security updates). The last redistributable version that shows “Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable” in Windows Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall, is v14.44.35211. Version 14.51.36247 is shown as “Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable”. And when the latest redistributable is installed, all redistributable versions that are currently installed, back to (and including) 2015, should be automatically deleted as part of the update - if the versions that should be uninstalled are not uninstalled, then you may want to do that manually. In my snapshot below, the 2022 versions that remained after updating may be ancillary additions (for ONLY MS Visual 2022) to the “master” 2022 redistributable. Also please note that any redistributable versions that support Visual C++ 2013 and early are still legitimate and should not be uninstalled, as those versions are not covered in the newer “Visual C++ v14 Redistributable” package. If You still cannot get the update to work using CCleaner, then you can manually download and install the latest redistributable version (VC_redist.x64.exe) - Do a browser search for “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Download” and follow the link for the “Microsoft Learn” listing.
