Smart Cleaning / Auto Clear Removed in CCleaner 7 — Paid Feature Missing, Major Quality Lapse

I’m extremely disappointed with what appears to be a serious lapse in product consistency and communication from CCleaner.

After the automatic upgrade from CCleaner 6 to 7, the Smart Cleaning / Automatically Clears History feature — a core paid feature of the Professional and Professional Plus plans — has completely vanished.

Yet, as of today, your official pricing page (screenshot attached) still advertises this feature as part of the paid tier. That’s a major disconnect between what’s being sold and what’s actually delivered.

This isn’t a minor UI change — it affects core automation functionality that justified the paid upgrade for many long-time users. Removing such a key feature without notice or documentation not only undermines product reliability but also raises legitimate concerns about internal quality control, regression testing, and transparency.

What’s almost ironic is that some might even classify this as a “bug”, when in reality it’s far more concerning — a paid feature silently removed, while its existence continues to be publicly promoted. That’s not a technical glitch; that’s a breakdown in product integrity.

Frankly, if a flagship feature can vanish in a major update while still being marketed on the same page, it’s fair to question whether other features have been modified or removed without user awareness.

Please clarify:

  • Has Smart Cleaning / Auto Clear been intentionally deprecated in version 7?

  • If so, why is it still listed on the website as a premium feature?

  • Are there other background or automation functions silently discontinued in v7?

I’ve been a paying CCleaner Professional user for years, but this kind of silent removal severely erodes trust in the brand and its commitment to product transparency.

Expecting a prompt and honest clarification — not a “bug report” reply, but a real explanation.

Maybe they have been bought out? Seems likely.
I just spent over 3o minutes chatting with AI, then 10min with a “live” human, who first claimed i didn’t have a current subscription, then once I proved my sub, wanted to LogmeIn remote session. Seem like BS to me.

Thank you for your well worded complaint.

All I asked was “ Has smart cleaning been discontinued in version 7?

I have to be honest - that does not sound like you were talking to CCleaner support but to some (dodgy) generic ‘Tech Support’ found on the web.

AFAIK CCleaner Support would never ask to remote into your machine.

I hope that you did not allow that to happen.

How did you contact whoever you were talking with?
Was it using the official ‘Contact Us’ form, and then the webchat button after you had been given a ticket number?

even i had an agent chat with me and remote bia norton.. and its tru the support form of CCleaner leads to a complaint and chat with live agent and then remote user if allowed.

maybe pls check with any official channels first as CCleaner seems to be doing stuff beyond your knowledge.

Yes that looks normal (The Start Chat button is different to the one I got last week but fair enough).

I have not know them remote onto a users machine before.
However things change and it may be part of the new support system.

I will ask for confirmation.

EDIT- It appears that CCleaner support are indeed remoting onto peoples computers now.
(And there’s already a thread on the forum from a customer concerned about what one support agent did whilst remoted in to their machine).

I’ve just spent 30/40 minutes looking for smart cleaning, sent a support message, had chat bot tell me to look here there everywhere again!

AI now says; The Smart Cleaning feature is currently not available in CCleaner version 7 but is a standard feature of the Professional edition that will be added back in a future update. The feature was a core part of the previous version (version 6), and its absence in the current iteration is a known issue the developers are working to address.

Thankyou for your well worded post.
