Small issue cleaning files

Whenever i click on the run cleaner option it always appears as this: issue.jpg

Even when i press run cleaner straight after cleaning it, it finds more. I was just wondering if you could help me fix this issue and would greatly appreciate it.

Operating system information:

- Microsoft Windows XP

- Service pack 3

- 1.73GHz

- 1GB Ram

- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600

- 100GB hard drive space

My previous post may have confused some people because it looks like the ordinary cleaning process, but it isn't. I don't even minimize the program and after i hit run cleaner the same results come up every time.

(I HAVE TRIED REINSTALLING.)

Go to Options > Advanced > Show detailed log of IE Temporary Files.

See.. if you can make out something? Also, do you have any add-ons on IE?

Thanks for the reply dude, i clicked on show detailed information for IE temp files and it seems to have come back to a file called SuggestedSite.dat. I tried manually searching for the file on my system (with show hidden files and folders on) and cannot seem to find it anywhere. Yet when i click run cleaner again the same file comes up in the same location and file size. I'm also having similar results with the userenv.log.

And to answer your question, yes i do have IE addons but they are all disabled except for shockwave, java plug-in and windows media player. Could they still be causing problems? And if so, how could i go about removing them? I'm running IE8.

What is also strange is that i ran the windows disk cleanup and it found absolutely nothing in my temporary internet files. Could i possible exclude these files from the cleaning process so i don't have to see them come up all the time when they aren't even being cleaned?

If you do not use the Suggested Site feature of IE, you can delete it or put it to the exclude list. I don't really know the details, as I do not use IE!

Bottom Line: I had exactly the same "report" as Bunyip had. Earlier versions of Ccleaner (2.18.878) do NOT have this erroneous listing, even with Explorer 8 and with the add ons on.

This is clearly a bug in 2.21. I would try to load an erlier version, if you have it, until the bug is fixed.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one encountering this issue, i thought it had something to do with my computer maybe, but i can see now i was wrong. I will try running an older version and will hopefully report back with success within the hour.

Thanks for the help guys, i managed to get this issue fixed by simple turning off the suggested sites filter in IE8. Also i hope i helped Mattcalled and anyone else encountering this small issue. I'll see if i can report this bug to the Piriform team so that they can fix this. (Also in reply to Ishan_rulz, i don't personally use IE either which is why i was wondering about this issue, I'm a proud Firefox user and eagerly awaiting version 3.5)
