Slow internet - 1 bar

The computer has been slow for about 3 weeks. I ran several scans. They didn’t help. I updated windows fr 10 to 11. It seemed to worked better for a day & now it’s slow again. The wifi bar is at 1. Other computers in the house are fine. No speed issues for them. Any other things I can do? TIA (HP envy x360)

I don’t believe that is anything to do with CCleaner so I have moved this to Computer help.

It’s a general wifi issue so you will need to do the general ‘poor wifi’ troubleshooting to determine the cause.

First thing to note is it’s obviously not the router if other devices are connecting OK, it’s just that one device.

But you could try turning your router off at the power for 30 seconds or so and then back on again. That will force it to refresh, (and update if there is an available update).
See if that has made any improvement.

The next thing to note is that the ‘1-bar’ indicator appears to be showing a weak signal for that particular device so things to check first:

Just because you only have 1-bar that doesn’t necessarily mean the broadband is slow, just that it’s a weak signal.
Run a speed test with Ookla or similar to see what broadband speed you are getting at the device, you don’t need to install it just run it in the browser. (you could do it for each device and compare the results)

Also consider:
The distance between your router and the device. (You might simply be at the edge of the routers range).
Are there any obstructions between your router and the device. (walls, fridges, anything metal and/or electrical, can all block and weaken wifi signals).
Is it connected on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz? (5 GHz has better penetration through obstacles).
